Saturday, March 1
I was verry much afflicted with a Cough and ottic perplexitys
went went [sic] with Parker and drew load wood most to Douglass
unloaded and came home
Kales and family went to Wm Kales
Edmond went to Harperville for male [mail] had not come
weather Rough windy
 
Sunday, March 2, 1862
was at home all day
Anderson had a sing at one oclock at the schoolhous
Joshua Beals and Sarah came here Staid all night
weather verry pleasent
 
Monday 3
My cough continuous
We finished thrashing with Put and Fany
Stafford and Jeorge helped
Oats verry badly Eaten with Rats and mice
Stormy rain hail and snow all day
 
Tuesday 4
Drew four load wood to Miss Rockwell
my cough no better
Douglass Returned from Advertising for Coldwell
and Anderson ben gone one week
 
Wednesday, March 5, 1862
Choped and drew six load wood to Mrs Rockwells
Parker helped in PM
Edmond loching about doing nothing
Weather verry good
 
Thursday 6
I choped in AM Drew three load wood PM
the Boys cleaned the last of our Oats had over fifty Bushels
weather verry fine
 
Friday 7
Drew Five load wood to Mrs Rockwells
weather yet good
 
Saturday, March 8, 1862
Drew seven load wood to Mrs Rockwells
weather some what thawy
 
Sunday 9
Attended meeting at Two oclock
Mr Lomas Preached
we went to Harveys before meeting Harvey was at home
Anderson and Betsy Truesdell with three three girls
sisters name Sheldons was here in the evening to sing
 
Monday 10
Was stormy AM
Drew one load woo [sic] to Mrs Rockwells
 
Tuesday, March 11, 1862
Drew Four load wood to Mrs. Rockwells being the last to make Forty load
and then drew three load home
Warm and thawy
 
Wednesday 12
Drew two load wood cut trimed and piled some poles in the woods
Anderson and Parker went to Green to see the Indian Doctor
warm and thawy
 
Thursday 13
Drew seven load wood home
Edmond helped Anderson and Parker went to Green to see the Indian Dr
Anderson got a persipson at Five Dollars
Parker got some snuff for his head
weather warm and thawy

Parker helped draw six load wood home
Edmond and George drew two load Hay from the old house on the Andrew lot
I yet have a cough
weather yet thawy
 
Saturday 15
Stormy all day
My health poor cough continues
Parker went to the River to get the male
got seven lb and one half Butter of Piersal at Fifteen cts per lb
 
Sunday 16
was at home throug the day
 
Monday, March 16, 1862
Drew two load wood AM
Mr Hancock and wife came here before noon was here til night
Wakely was here with them
 
Tuesday 18
Drwe some wood home
Weather verry fine
 
Wednesday 19
Drew home four load wood
Edmond and George drew one load Hay from the old House on the Andrew lot
verry fine weather
 
Thursday, March 20, 1862
Parker and I drew out of the woods three load wood that Mr Lyons choped
and one load that [unable to make out] choped
drew one load home
Edmond and George drew three load hay
weather verry good
 
Friday 21
I was laid up with bad Cough Staid in the Hous all day
Edmond and Parker Split some wood
Edmond and Sally went Aunt Mariahs just at night to stay all nig
Parker went to douglass and Lyons in the evening
 
Saturday 22
Got up this morning found Parker gone
Douglass went after him to the Forks did not find him then he did
Sally went to Jonanses and Bealeses but before they returned He came home
My Health poor and feel verry mych Afflicted
Heard of the Death of Berdertha and Mrs Blanchards mawen[??] E child
 
Sunday, March 23, 1862
Was yet laid up with my cold and cough
Parker came home tho Douglass and Sally had gon to Joneses and Bealeses
to look for him
The Snow was yet verry Deep
 
Monday 24
My Health yet Poor
Stormy all Day
not much Done
Heavy Boddy of Old Snow
 
Tuesday 25
Stormy in the AM some yet not Bad
Edmond drew out some wood from woods that Eugene choped
Wife and Parker went to Mr Joanses to see Wakely and Abigail
 
Wednesday, March 26, 1862
I went to Mr Ways and Miss Stevens to Bye Oats found none
Went to Staffords with wife visiting in the PM
Edmond and Parker drew wood for Douglass with oxen
I unwell Had a verry Griping weak sick turn in evening
Snow covered the walls in some places
 
Thursday 27
Boys drew wood for Douglass Part of the day
I was yet laid up with cough
Pleasent weather
 
Friday 28
Boys drew wood out of woods with oxen
George Helped Edmond draw some Hay
Old Snow yet verry deep
Edmond drew home twenty bushels Oats from Staffords
weather Pleasent over Head
 
Saturday, March 29, 1862
I and wife went to River to Watson Merwins to see Thirsey Montgomery who was there sick
Her mother was there with Hir
I went to see Dr Guy and got some powders for cough
Pleasent weather
 
Sunday 30
I was at Home all day
My cough a littl better
Wakely and Abigail was Here and Stafford and Isabel
Stormed just at night
 
Monday 31
Parker was taken sick last night was sick today with Colick
Got som better by night
My health yet poor
Had some Diarae
[from here to the end of the day is all crossed out]
but helped Edmond get out some poles
