Thursday, May 1, 1862
Edmond and Parker went and draged to Mr Ways
Some Rainy did not finish
I plowed Sord with oxen
to Hard did not Plow much
Friday 2
I plowed Sord with Oxen alone
Rainy just at nite
Edmond fixed some fens
Anderson and Edmond drew one load Hay from the lour [lower] Hay Barn on the Andrew Lot
Saturday 3
I plowed sward
Edmond and Eugene fixed fense
Sunday, May 4, 1862
Was at Home most of the day
Parker was sick
I went to Douglass got some Rheubarb for Parker
Monday 5
I was Plowing Apart of the day
Helped Edmond and Eugene with the Oxen
fix fense on the Burlingame Lot
they Had finished draging Oats to Lorenzo Ways
Tuesday 6
Edmond and Eugene was sowing Oats on the Burlingame Lot
I was plowing sward
Harvey Pike went to Deposit and Herd from Douglass down Delaware River with Horses
Wednesday, May 7, 1862
Edmon worked at Oats sowing
I was plowing verry windy weather
I went and brot Mary Home from Joneses
Abigail Had a boy born Monday 5th
Harvey Pike came Home from Deposit
Thursday 8
Sally Truesdell was Here to make Soap
I put up Leach Hung Kattle
Eugene Helped about two hours and then went home to go to Mr Trobridges to Hire out
Mr Lyon was Here and got Six bushels Buckwheat
Friday 9
I had finished new drag and took into the field to to day
I helped Edmond gittin in Oats
Mary and Sally finished making Soap
I draged Potatoe ground did not Help oats
it was the day before?
Saturday, May 10, 1862
I finished draging Potatoe ground and marked it out for planting
Edmond finished drging in Oats then we went to Planting
Planted about the Pea
George Allen and wife was Here visiting talk of going west
Sunday 11
Was at Home
the Children went to meeting at Schoutan Schoolhous to Right
Anderson m[unable to make out] the Singers
they also went to Cook Schoolhous Evening to Here Puffer
Monday 12
Finished Planting Potatoes in AM
Sowed a little Peas new ground that was left
and finished fensing the new lan that we Sowed to Oats and Rye
Tuesday, May 13, 1862
Went and devided Line fense with Wm Pike and mended fense AM
Hiram Pike came Here Brot Mother Staid all Night
Harvey Pike come and got Seven bushels Potatoes for Douglass
Some to Plant and some to eat
Wednesday 14
Plowed Sord with Oxen for Buckwheat
Harvey Truesdell and wife Here got Three bushels Potatoes for seed
Dr Nutting Here to fix Sallys Teath
Edmond fixed fense on the Andrew Lot

Finished Braking Buckwheat ground
Hiram went and went and worked on his acre drawing manure and triming apple trees AM

Hiram Pike started for home
finished draging corn ground
I draged and drew off stone more than hald the day
Saturday 17
Boys Marke corn ground and Edmond Planted one half of it
I with wife and mother went to Bealys
Got some seed corn
Mother Stayed there
The Shad Blow Trees was in the full Bloom
Sunday 18
I was at home not verry well
Monday, May 19, 1862
Harvey Truesdell and Anderson with Oxen was here
helped pry up and split and draw stone for Botam to wall
on line between me and Sary Anderson
went Home at night Harvey Staid
Tuesday 20
Drew Stone for bottom to wall in AM
Commensed Laying wall in PM
Harvey and Edmond helped
Wednesday 21
Drew Stone and laid wall Some most of the day
Windy and some Rain very little disagreable weather to work
Dr Guy was here to see colt
Weather verry dry

I went to Staffords to see Him
He had bin sick was yet unwell But Better
the Children went to Meeting day and Evening to Here Puffer

Resumed the wall Building with the same Help

I was laying wall yet with Harvey Edmond George
and Franklin Merwin Helped for some Potatoes and Hay

Was Building wall yet with Harvey Edmond George and Franklin Merwins
I went non [noon] and found a turkeys nest with Six Eggs
Weather yet dry
Thursday 29
Finished the wall
Harvey Truesdell quit at Noon
Had Through the building it all
The Apple Trees in Full Bloom
Weather yet Dry
Friday 30
Had got new Tread to Dog power put it on and commensed Chiming with young Dog
Had midling luck
Put up Sleighs and Sleads
Verry Dry yet
Saturday, May 31, 1862
I and wife went to Green
carried Firkin Butter
got likenesses [photographs?!?]
went o Harretts gave Hir each of our likenesses
they war about to Start for Wisconson
was to start on Monday next
[I don't have photos of Isaac and Mary - I need to track down Harriet's descendants it seems!]
